Interpreting the Results
The BMI Calculator converts all measurements to the metric standard and then computes the Body Mass Index using the following formula:

                 weight in kilograms 
BMI =  ---------------------------------------
            height in meters squared 

Results:
A BMI less than 18.5 indicates that you may be underweight.
A BMI between 18.5 and 24.9 indicates that you are in a healthy weight range.
A BMI between 25 and 30 indicates that may be overweight.
A BMI over 30 indicates that you may be obese.

The BMI Calculator is not accurate for all body types. To assess if your weight is within a healthy range for your body type, contact your health-care provider.
